Zambia House

After a bit of a wander around the streets looking at the Albert Hall etc I finally turned up at the High Commission just before the 10am opening time. The receptionist was very helpful and I was asked to sit in a huge room with comfortable (but very well worn) armchairs to wait for my number to be called. I was the only one there! So the number seemed a bit odd.

Within a few minutes I was directed down a corridor to a small office where I met the Visa Officer - a friendly Zambian man. Within 5 minutes everything was signed and ready to go. I was asked to return in 2 hours and my visa would be ready.

That really has to be the best experience I have had at an embassy/high commission - slick and friendly.

Sure enough I returned at 12.00 on the dot after sitting in the park for an hour having run my battery flat on my laptop in Starbucks. My Visa was ready. Fantastic. I hope the rest of the journey is as smooth!
