A Bishy day

Well that was one brilliant day...

Between a bunch of us Bishopstone residents we have an expression - "a Bishy day". This is a day which is hard to properly define, but it is one that usually involves good food, good beer, going round to someone's house, good company and plenty of laughs and good weather. Today was one such day. It started in Somerset this morning for me at my Mum and Dad's roughly a 2 hour drive away... and ended in Bishy late evening round at my good friends Doug and Karen (now I know who one of the other blog readers is... hello Karen!)

The day started early at my Mum and Dad's in Thorne Coffin in Somerset, where I was woken early by fighting foxes in the garden... After a lovely breakfast of toast and home made Seville Orange Marmalade we packed our kit to head home. A few family photos followed and off Huw and I headed in the VW on one route and Liz and the girls via the A303 in the Volvo. Huw and I stopped for a Donner Kebab in Devises. Yummy.

We had a number of invites to parties. So Mabel went to Edward's for a Pirate party, and we went to Sue and Adrians to the "opening of their new pottery shed" - awesome. I'd forgotten just how superb their place is, the views are superb from their garden (and here you go Darrell - this is the view from the Jetty in Bishopstone!) Here's a few shots.

Afterwards, Mabel and I wandered towards home with Liz and Millie, and couldn't resist the invitation in to Doug and Karen's for another drink....

We discussed the pond then looked at the ferrets...

And we looked at the engines...

Then Mabel and I headed home....

Seeing an advert for the village fete on the way...
