Bishopstone Church Fete
Today was the annual Church Fete in Bishopstone. The past few years have been a mix of sun and rain and last year was a superb sunny day. Today started fair but by the end of play we had a torrential downpour and everyone quickly dispersed.
I had intended to get many videos and photos from around the various stalls, but the rain put an end to me getting much chance to wander round and photograph the goings on. Such a shame as this is a really fantastic and fun event for the village and some of the images would have been superb.
Doug and I ran up 3 of our Stinky Engines and we raised a few quid by just leaving a small flat cap on the ground by the engines. Tom turned up and parked his lovely 1949 BSA motorbike next to our engines. Its amazing that my engine is 2 years older than his bike which really does look like something from a different era. We spent the afternoon chatting to friends old and new. A Bishy day!
Mabel performed a ballet at 3pm and Huw threw one of his mates in the pond. Martha wandered around teenage girl like with her friends all afternoon.
At the end of the day we had enjoyed it all, despite getting wet. Liz and I won first prize in the raffle. A night in the 5* Grovesnor House Hotel in Park Lane, London.
WOW - first time I've won top prize in a raffle.
