The week ahead looks exciting
I have quite a bit of work to do today, planning what needs to be done.
I have just spoken at length with the person I am going to be working with from tomorrow and she explained we are heading off into the remote tribal farming areas for a week and will be staying as guests of these people. Its sounds very exciting. They are growing organic cotton out there and we will be gathering data about how they do this. What an honour to get a chance to do this. I never expected that my job would involve this sort of work when I started out nearly 5 years ago.
I am leaving most of my belongings behind at Prabha's house taking only essentials (must figure out what that means - may be need to buy some loo rolls!) camera and laptop etc. We then head by train tomorrow evening at 10pm to Salem, Tamil Nadu and from there in the morning out to the remote areas by car.
On my return I will fly north to Ahmedebad to a totally different environment in a huge textiles mill. Part of that week will also involve traveling out to farming areas too. So a real mix of things to do and see.
