More curry, yummy
This travel lark to places like Bangladesh, Pakistan and India should have a health warning on... "High Fat, very tasy and likely to cause weight gain" - the food here is superb.
Today was to start with a bit dull but got better and better as it went on. A long wait for a lunch time meeting that was supposed to be at 12 and started at nearer to 1 kicked the day off. I think I've got the hang of this Bangladesh time now... its like the Carribean, eventually...
This evening we went with our hosts to quite possibly the most magnificent hotel I've ever been to anywhere in the world for a wonderful feast of different curry dishes. It's such a lovely surprise to find that these places exist here in Dhaka which if you listen to and watch the BBC news and only hear about disasters one would never know about. My impressions of Dhaka are good. Its cleaner than many cities I've been to recently. I've seen people out collecting rubbish from the streets. OK there is poverty everywhere, beggars knock on the windows of the cars everytime we stop, but this is clearly somewhere on the rise.
There were people at the meal tonight from all over the region, and eveyone I talked to like the idea of traceability so I came away having given out nearly all my business cards, buzzing and full of lovely curries.
I'll be back...
