A case of mistaken identity

That was a very long day. Much of it spent waiting around. Our lift was 90mins late this morning. The journey through the streets was the usual mayhem in this part of the world. I find it very exciting travelling through it all. Dhaka has huge numbers of cycle Rickshaws. After an hour we reach our "destination". We were taken to the wrong factory!

When we arrived, we said which customer we were working with and then people came running to meet us. We were ushered into the meeting room and various company directors were brought in.

Some 10 mins or so later, I asked where the other people were, and I thought I was told in the factory. Then my phone rang. It was the guy we were supposed to be meeting. "Where are you?" he said. I replied "in the boardroom". He then said "Where?" and realised we were in the wrong factory. Meanwhile our car had gone. So another hour later we eventually were picked up and transported to where we were supposed to be! While waiting with the people who appeared to be expecting us, I managed to persuade them that they should use our system. So a Result there.

Later in the proper meeting I did my presentation which seemed to go down quite well, as it took 45mins not the 15mins I'd been given as there were so many questions from the floor. I got the impression that had I been there earlier in the day, I could have given a better angle on the requirements. That said, I think it was a job well done.

At the end of the meeting we were all given a gift of a small silver Rickshaw bicycle by our host at the factory. Very nice.

Finally the day ended with a lovely nosh up in a fish restaurant and a bunch more work and meetings arranged. A good outcome I feel.

Here's a few photos of the streets along the way. Wish I'd taken a lot more, I always do.
