Huge Carbon footrpints

I'm in the middle of a crazy journey from Dhaka in Bangladesh to Chennai in southern India. I'm writing this in Dubai, which is where I have to change planes. Look at a map and see that I am having to travel half way back home to get somewhere which is closer than i've had to come to change planes. That is madness surely?
