A day in paradise

The morning started cool and early warmed by several strong coffees we ambled down to the harbour.
Before long the lure of lunch drew us into the Ship Inn. The best roast beef lunch I've ever had followed.
After lunch Mabel and I headed to Shell Beach, where the skies turned pure blue. We swam for 3hrs. Taking photos as we walked back to the cottage the beauty of Herm shone.
After tea Liz, Millie, Mabel and I went back to the harbour to watch the boats come and go. Some kids jumped in and out of the water from the jetty as the sun went down.
A swift pint at the Mermaid just had to be had. Some Morrismen were there and before long their hog roast had settled, beer had taken effect and the music and dance started up. Mabel was thrilled.
After several dances we headed back up the steep hill to the cottage, with a superb sunset out over the sea. By now it was nearly 10pm and we were ready to drop.
Days like this bring me back every year. Lots more pics and words to come when I get home next wk.
