Millie is 1 year old

Millie is 1. Amazing. For her birthday we gave her a Wheely Bug...

She can sit on it and ride around the house. For the moment she's mainly interested in its antennae.

I find it hard to believe it was a year ago that Millie was born. In celebration we headed off to Bristol Zoo. All 6 of us.

Not having a car that's big enough for us all at the moment, and my old VW being broken meant having to get there on public transport. Liz arranged it all, booking the train tickets and figuring out which buses we'd need.

We left Bishy at 7.50am, just catching the 47 bus into Swindon so we could be on the 9.00am train to Bristol. From there we had to catch the number 8 or 9 bus to the Zoo. Picture above is of Liz and Millie as we set off.

We were not alone at Bristol zoo. It seemed like everyone had decided to go there. We queued nearly 30mins to get in!

Once inside I think it was the fish and the lion that attracted Millie the most. The fish in the huge aquarium were nearly as big as her. You can just see her amazed looked in the reflection on the picture above.

Dotted around the zoo were silly things to put your head through for photos. We all did it!

Just as we were leaving the male Lion started roaring. Not something I've ever heard before. You should have seen Millie's face. She couldn't control herself smiling and growling. It jumped up and chased the female around the cage! I've never seen them bother to move before.

My favourite animals were Gorillas. The people who live near the zoo have a super view into the Gorilla enclosure. Here's a shot of a female carrying a baby along a ladder. Imagine being able to see that out of your back window!
