Another memory lane...
My friend Jo and I used to live near each other as teenagers on the same wonderful country estate in Northamptonshire, her father managed Home Farm and mine managed the main household and tourist attractions. At the weekend she was back on the Boughton Estate and took this video. (pop over to her blog at http://theelyfamily.blogspot.com - for more of the same)
The clip shows the drive down to the back entrance from the Geddington to Grafton Underwood Road, past the stable yard (where I once accidentally sprayed the Duke of Buccleuch's Black and Yellow Range Rover a shade of Porsche Guards Red while spraying my own car). The last shot is up the drive to where we used to park our car and enter the house.
What a great place to grow up as a teenager on a country estate of the biggest land owner in Europe. Sadly he died a few weeks ago now. One day I must take my kids there and show them where Dad lived in a posh stately home....
It was here I discovered many of the fun things in life, cars, motorbikes, long walks, etc, etc and it never failed to impress girls and other friends... An idyllic way to grow up.

It was really weird driving down past Seans house. The electric fingers gone and replaced with yet another cattle grid. We couldn't see the swimming pool (I still have the scar on my elbow where I fell over). Real shame I never got a picture of Home Farm, but hey ho, I'll be back again - only and hour and 15mins away.
