That was a heck of a week

Its been an odd week. Loads of stuff to do but not much happened if you know what I mean.

On Tuesday I went to Plymouth by train with a crazy idea that it would be a good way to get 6 or more hours of undisturbed work done on the train. But sadly it didn't work out as the good old British railway companies make sure every seat is full by shrinking the length of the trains on the less popular routes. Thus I had very little space to work and despite being in one of the most developed countries in the world, I only had a mobile signal that was usable for my phone / internet on the computer for about 10% of my journey between Bristol and Plymouth. I needed access to some data and didn't have a connection long enough to get it! Ended up being a bit of a wasted day.

To make the day worse I had a pasty at lunch time that disagreed with me and ended up in bed with bad guts and feeling sick in the evening. It was a good experience and I now know not to try that again.

On Wednesday the Woodburner was in and running. What a difference that has made.

Thursday night was the annual craft fair in the village hall. Its amazing what local produce there is around here. I ended up buying some delicious chilli chocolate for myself and cranberry chocolate for Liz.

On Friday I had to go to London for a meeting with a customer to review progress on a project. That went well and was followed by a lovely lunch in the Union Cafe on Marylebone Lane. I had calves liver. Delicious. Then rushed back to Swindon in time to get home to pick up Mabel and take her to ballet classes.

I've just heard that Bryan Hickton's funeral is next Wednesday, so have booked the day off work to give him a good send off. I still can't quite believe I'll never see him again. I'd like to gather some of the funny stories and pictures of him together and put them here. So if anyone has something interesting. Please let me know.

Next Monday I'm meeting up with Mogs to put together a plan to display loads of old photos from Bishopstone and Hinton-Parva here on-line. Watch this space.
