The story so far
Monday breakfast at 8.15 was hurried. I was up at around 5.30am checking everything was ready for the day and the presentations were complete. I found a few typos as I went through everything again but missed a few which I spotted in the presentations during the day.
At 9.15am Farhan and I were picked up by car and taken to the meeting venue where we met up with our customer's merchandising team. We spent the morning talking them through what they need to do, and getting ready for the afternoon session.
At 2pm only 2 of the 40 or so people had arrived. Apparently this is not uncommon. However our host was not amused and phone calls were made all over the place, and soon we knew everyone was on the way. By 2.20 we were underway.
My presentation went well, then all the lights went out in the basement room we were in, along with the aircon. A few seconds later they were on again but no aircon. I didn't notice at first as it had been a bit too cold. But by the time I finished speaking 20 mins later I was roasting and my shirt was sticking to my back. Yuk.
We stopped for a coffee break and then everyone came back into the room and signed up for the service we've been promoting. A good outcome, and my sticky shirt didn't seem to put them off!
By the end of the day I was mentally exhausted. I've been building up to this day for weeks, and as soon as it was done my brain shutdown and I just couldn't function properly. So I went to bed and have had a good sleep. Feeling much better and refreshed today. 2 more sessions to do this week, one today and one on Thursday, a day in the office on Weds and several meetings to arrange before I fly from here to Portugal on Friday via Delhi! What a mad life this is sometimes.
