Bye, bye VW Golf. Hello Subaru Legacy

Its a day of mixed emotions for me today.

I've got a new car (well new by my standards) a 2001 Subaru Legacy. Its lovely to drive, lots of space, modern, air con, electric windows, remote central locking, air bags, ABS brakes etc, etc. Feels good. It even has a CD player and a spare key!

I've also sold my 1992 VW Golf to a young chap called Robin. I feel sad about that, as its been a very, very good car. I've had it nearly 2 years and done nearly 30,000miles in it and its been almost trouble free apart from a few minor problems over the whole time I've had it.

It feels very strange being in such a modern car after having been in what was a dated car even in 1992. The Subaru was my Dad's so I know it's a good one and has been regularly serviced and well looked after.

I'll give you a ride in it....

It ain't the most economical car in the world, and isn't fancy. But should be safe with the kids in.

I'd forgotten that you had one for a while..

But will Martha be seen in it? That is the real question.
;o)

Does it have a mount for your camera?

Did you shed a momentary tear? I did, once, when I sold my Honda Civic wagon. Sold it to my neighbor (almost always a mistake!) who proceeded to let it go downhill. Made me furious!!

Yes - Martha rides in it! Result.

Yes - I did shed a small tear for the VW Golf. It was a great little car that got me out of a hole just when I needed it. It saw me through some very hard times and kept going with out complaining. How silly to be emotional about a car. The chap who bought it has plans to fix the dents, replace the missing handle and make it lovely again. We'll see..
