32C on the patio in the UK. Is it summer yet?

The summer is back at long last. We've had a good run of a few days hot and sunny weather. I took the thermometer out on to the patio earlier and left it in the shade on the wood pile. A couple of hours later when I came back and looked at it I was surprised to see it reading 32C! Thats high summer temperatures, not early May. It certainly is hot humid and airless here today, but I wouldn't have thought it was that hot.


Its still hot now at over 28C outside and its early evening. Just about to light the BBQ. Looks like its just me and Liz. Millie will be in bed. Mabel's seeing a ballet and is staying at my Mum's, Huw's staying over at a friends house and Martha starts an evening waitressing job tonight in the pub in Wanborough.
