Delhi to Dhaka
After yesterday nothing could be bad. I woke up at 8am, after having seen the clock turn 7.00am before I could sleep. Bad news.
Anyway, I dragged myself out of bed and down to the restaurant. Very pleasant.
AT 9am my taxi came to take me to Indira Ghandi International Airport, Delhi en route to Dhaka. The Delhi traffic was heavy but much better organised than in many Indian cities. No horns! Hooray.
I got to the airport by 10am. Flight was due at 12.20. So loads of time. I checked in and had a couple of strong mochaccinos then went through security. Checked the boards and was told the plane was 40 minutes late. Normally I'd have moaned at that point, but it seemed OK!
The plane arrived and we all got on. Smooth.
I even had 3 seats all to myself so I lay down and slept nearly all the way to Dhaka. This was big result compared to the previous day. I felt good.
Dhaka immigration is slow. But this time I whizzed through. I didn't even have to queue to get currency and my baggage was about the third item on the conveyor belt. Wow. This seemed too good.
My taxi from the hotel was already there, and it was a luxury car. It cost me $15.00 but I didn't care. I watched the world whiz by insulated from the poverty that greets you in Dhaka.
I arrived at my luxury 5* Hotel and checked in. All easy. Went to my room which is superb. A shower the size of a car wash, a bath the size of a swimming pool and a bed that could sleep 6! I looked out of the window and could see the real world.
All I had to do now was get all the information i needed from the internet for my work and get ready for my meetings tomorrow. Meet up with Farhan and sleep.
What a great day of travel. No hassles. No stress. And a great destination. If only my family had been there at the end of it.
