Day 1 of the conference
I got to the point last night that every time I shut my eyes for more than a few seconds I was falling asleep while I sat and ate my meal and tried desperately to communicate sensibly with everyone. So I retired after a single Kingfisher and headed to my room. Logged on to my computer and posted that quick post and went to bed. I knew I had to get up early to write my presentation. So I set my clock for 6am and shut my eyes. Next thing it was 5.45am. Best sleep I've had in months.
I got up and internet was dead, so couldn't download the images I needed for my presentation. It came back at 7.30am by then it was brekky time and a bit of a rush was required. So I scoffed down my curried chicken livers (!) and dosas and a good strong cup off coffee and got back to it.
The conference was late kicking off as the bus bringing the farmers was late. Eventually we started and I built myself up to talk - only at the last minute to have my talk pulled from the schedule to be run tomorrow instead as time had run out for that part of the afternoon. So I have to go through all the psyching up again.
The afternoon sessions were lively, with one debating issues around GM and Organic Cotton. It got quite heated at times with opposing views on the panel.
This evening we had some entertainment laid on with some folk dancing which was very good. It became even more amusing when one of the audience joined in and was actually very good. Whistles went up and before long he was on stage dancing with one of the women performers. He was a very good dancer and clearly knew the folk dance.
I discovered exactly where I am too via GPS - see below:

OK... that was pretty funny... and entertaining. One could almost forgive someone missing the whole "man in loin cloth beating a burning bush" incident from the last trip.
