Garden Plans

Over the winter the shaded end of the garden will be transformed. Since losing my attic office I've lost all my storage space and no longer have any where to work in peace. I am going to make a large wooden shed/office/workshop from sustainable materials.

I will heat it via wood burner, using some of the energy to power a Stirling engine hooked to a small generator. Hopefully there is enough light there for solar power to charge a bank of batteries to run a decent sized invertor.

It's a dream, but an achievable one I think...

I have been looking at solar panels recently. They're not cheap! But a great technology to pioneer. Rather than having a bank of expensive and bulky batteries to charge you might want to consider an "on grid" system where you export unused energy to your electricity company and import it when you're not generating enough. There's a shop in Bristol with info.

Nah .. if your working from home you have to have somewhere "safe" to do your thing.

It's a bloomin' nightmare trying to share home space with work space - a mini office is the thing to have.
