More village goings on...

I know there's a few folks out there, particularly across the atlantic that read this blog from time to time who think life in England is a bit odd. Well this ought to add to the illusion.

Tidying out just now I came across this picture. Taken on the day Princess Diana died when we held our village raft race. My friend Steve and I built a Reliant Robin into a raft. We stripped it down, and replaced the wheels with barrels and fitted an outboard engine on the back. Painted it yellow with red flames and drove it across the pond. Thats me in the back controlling the engine.

The night before the race we had a practice run around midnight and drove it across the pond with the lights on.

On the day it was sabotaged with one of the other teams taking the bungs out of the barrels so we sunk!

What a laugh.
