Happy Easter and raise the flag
Happy Easter everyone.
We woke to a blizzard today. Snow was starting to settle and Millie had more or less slept through the night for the first time ever.
On Friday I decided I'd had enough of sleeping on the sofa bed and insisted that Millie would no longer be allowed in the marital bed during the night and that she would sleep in her own bed. Liz agreed and I took up the mantle to get up and calm her if she woke. 3 nights on and it seems to have worked. No longer is she rewarded by a quick feed and a warm bed if she wakes. Now I pick her up give her a quick cuddle and put her back in her cot covered by warm blankets. The first few nights have been hell, but last night she slept and I hope and pray this is a new beginning.
Liz, Mabel, Millie and I went to the Easter service in church today. Liz is in the choir so didn't sit with me, Millie and Mabel. Millie was tired and screamed her way through half of the service, but finally she rested and I could enjoy the best service of the year when we start again. New beginnings all round. At the end of the service we gave thanks for the new flag which Doug erected a few weeks ago.
I videoed us in the church yard as the flag was raised. George was the main influence in this happening. Despite his great age he climbed the tower all the way to the top and raised the flag. Well done George. I hope I can climb the tower in my 70s. With out you we wouldn't have a flag.
Following the flag raising the kids ran around the church yard hunting Easter eggs! Yay!
Another superb Bishy day.
