4 nights in USA

In my role as Product Manager for the FSC Online Claims Platform I regularly meet with customers to assess their needs and ensure we deliver a product that will work in the real world. This occasionally means travel to far flung places. This time its been to Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

I left Claire's at 3.45pm with Mabel and Millie to drop them home and get to Heathrow airport by 5.30pm and check in for a 7.15pm flight to New York. A tight schedule! I drove the M4 at 90+ mph for most of the journey. Finally reaching the parking by 5.50pm in the end. I made it to check in just in time as the gate was opened.

I had booked a seat at the rear of the plane. And got 2 seats to myself. Yay.

Flight to New York was uneventful and passed quickly watching Hitchcock and I fell asleep after sending Claire an email. Landing in New York JFK around 11.30pm I think. It then took over 90 mins to get thru immigration!

I eventually emerged to get on the transfer system to the hotel shuttle buses and reached my hotel after 1am. There was a queue to check in! By the time I hit my bed it was 2am and my alarm was set for 4.10am to catch a cab back to JFK for the flight to Atlanta.

Once in Atlanta (totally knackered) I made my way to the Avis rental to meet FSC Phil.

We set off for our first meeting with Home Depot (say it Deeepo). The meeting went well... Mexican lunch followed... pm spent working in hotel and msgs with Claire :-)

In the evening Phil and I found a down at heel fish place selling traditional southern fried fish. Fabulous. I had spicy fried Tilapia fillets.

Woke early pm to meet with the guys back home online the headed off for 2 mtgs.  First with Kimberly Clarke then Georgia Pacific. Both were expected to be tough mtgs but went very well... pictures attached of the view from 51st floor of Georgia Pacific offices...

Later I made my way to my hotel at the airport for a relaxing evening catching up on news from Claire. I ate in the bar watching planes coming and going and listening to a bloody annoying big headed American ex pilot on the table next to me. Such a loud voice telling everyone how wonderful he was...
