Dangerous driving conditions
I'm a sensible driver (mostly), and am well aware of how to drive on bad roads, snow and ice. Last night though I crashed my car, spinning a full 360 degrees and hitting a small tree in the process and was powerless to avoid it.![]()
On my way home in the dark last night on a notoriously dangerous blind bend (I was going less than 25mph) I span out of control and went sideways down a slight slope managing to hit the only tree in sight on the near side with the offside of the car and then span right around so that the car was again pointing in the correct direction. It shook me up, but I was unharmed and the car seems to have come out of it with fixable damage too. Phew I was lucky.![]()
On my way in to work this morning I stopped to photograph where it happened in case I make an insurance claim, and discovered several other cars had crashed there since my incident last night. There was evidence of at least 3 other cars judging by the bits of number plate different coloured paint scrapes and assorted broken body parts and lights.
